Two seconds ago, Amanda thought they were all about to die. And now, she was pretty sure they were about to win.
She hoped her allies would rally, now that the Zolom was paralyzed. She saw little, but what she did gave her little hope.
But she had no time to study and judge, as the beast was falling towards she and her trooper companion. She wasn't sure that the Zolom would land right on her, but his twitching could easily have caught her. The wind was gathering above her raised hand, but still she moved quickly to escape its trajectory.
The quickest way was back the way she came. She didn't want anything to interrupt her spell. But this also meant putting the Zolom between her and her trooper. She'd miss him. Having a close ally on a dangerous battlefield always provided some comfort.
Amanda turned to angle herself towards the beast, taking a moment to revel in the damage she'd done to it. Above her head, the wind revolved in a miniature tempest. He loosened hair whipped around her as the maelstrom thinned into a disk so thin it looks like nothing more than rippling in the air.
She had two choices. GAWAIN had ripped into the Zolom's stomach. She could see its steaming innards pulsing within the torn flesh. He likely had that well in hand, but it was the creature's weakest point. Other than that, was the monster's neck, where she had aimed her bolt. A great number of its diamond-tough scales were gone, leaving patches of vulnerable flesh along its length. If she struck it there, with a bit of luck she could take the head off, or at least give them a headstart.
She'd leave GAWAIN to his gruesome work. If she could take its head she'd be a hero. If not, it was dead anyway.
She focused on the weakest section, and brought her arms down. The disc whistled as it rotated and soared toward the beast's neck. And then, it passed it entirely. It flew off a bit, gathering speed as it went. Amanda moved her hands to guide it as it made an arc and came back to come screeching down towards the white flesh of the beast's exposed neck.
As she released the spell and left it to its deadly course, the debris around her fell to the ground, and she sighed as the might of her potential was spent. She looked around for a new spot to cast from, in case the Zolom survived.
Amanda used Air 3+ for a piercing+slashing strike at the Zolom, spending 1 ATB. ATB 0/2. "Prodigy" effect is now over. "Gaia's Chosen" still in effect for 1 turn.
