About: Amanda is the youngest daughter of the de Vallieres, an old family who's been in the upper echelon of Midgar since its foundations were laid. They are close to the Shin-Ra family in particular. Amanda's grandfather Benjamin was an junior executive in Shin-Ra Manufacturing and invested a large portion of his own inheritance into the Midgar Project. The risk paid dividends in gil and influence. Amanda, like all de Vallieres, is fiercely loyal to Shin-Ra and dedicated to its success--especially considering their investments guarantee a lucrative profit.

Amanda was born in the Shin-Ra Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Bryson de Valliere. She was a beautiful, happy baby. She was well-educated and idolized her brother, who was a member of the elite defense force SOLDIER. His green eyes, so different from her and her parents' dark gray, were mesmerizing to her. As she grew, she tried to learn to fight but found she was awful at it. Amanda was sharp as a tack, but she hadn't the rhythm for sword play for the aim for gun play.

Now sixteen, Amanda thought it best to abandon her dream of becoming one of SOLDIER. There were many places for her within Shin-Ra for her to aspire towards. She would travel and improve her education, then return to Midgar in a few years. But her brother wouldn't have it. He insisted she at least do another round of training. No, she replied, defeated. Or, consider serving a year in defense? Nuh-uh. Experiment with materia?

Hm...

She was so skilled at commanding magic, it took her brother's breath away. It was effortless to her. Calling lightning was no more difficult than breathing. She had an unusual gift for magic, and her power grew so much and so fast the Turks arrived on her doorstep to meet her and witness her potential.

Amanda would be the second to be recruited for SOLDIER from among her siblings, and the fifth in her family. Though she remained a tragic fighter, she somehow managed enough to pass basic training. More likely, her astounding magical prowess made up for her unimpressive fighting skills. Upon being inducted into SOLDIER, she underwent the Procedure. Her strength, speed and stamina sharpened enough for her to endure more damage than the zero during training. However, the increase to her magical power was truly remarkable. While Amanda was an exceptional talent among magic users within Shin-Ra, her exposure allowed her to rival many of her superiors within SOLDIER in raw magical power.

As she trained within SOLDIER and learned to better control and exploit magic, Amanda claims to be one of the most skilled and powerful materia-wielders in the world. Due to her talent, dedication and single-minded and efficient completion of mission after mission, Amanda has been promoted to SOLDIER 2nd Class. Still can't fight, though.

Lately, she hopes to be recruited by the Elite within the Elite, the Round Table in SOLDIER. She'd never heard of it until having earned her way into 2nd Class. Now, earning her place within it was her mission. You know, other than actual missions.
