"Well now... ain't this something else?" Commented the blonde SOLDIER as he slowly knelt in front of the unexpectedly lively bed of flowers, smiling in delight at the beautiful miracles of nature, his hand slowly dragging over one of them.
He had chosen to live in Sector 5 specifically because he had heard it was the only place in Midgar where flowers could still be grown... But he wouldn't have ever expected to find anything like this just randomly blooming in the middle of an old, dilapidated church.
He chuckled- a joyous sight, to be certain... but also one of clear activity. And it matched the report given by Sergeant Oswald perfectly.
"I don't suppose I could take whoever's responsible for this for personal questioning?" He asked playfully as he glanced over his shoulder to his coworkers, "I could definitely use their advice; my garden is positively dreary compared to this."
Rising back to his feet, the man began to pace about the rest of the church, his gaze slowly moving over the abused surfaces of the stonework and masonry. The signs of the previous fire fight could still be seen; he could also see the signs of what appeared to be a large gash along the walls; a large, thrown cutting weapon... He could see why the troopers might have been convinced they were fighting SOLDIERs; though the large amount of survivors suggested to GAWAIN otherwise.
His eyes fell upon a large, shattered window, bits of glass having fallen over the sill; most of it was on the other side, outside the church. The escape route utilized by the more 'proactive' one of the swordsmen, he assumed.
Hn.
"It's silly, but do you think our little criminal would happen to be the foolish kind that returns to the scene of the crime?" He asked conversationally of the other two, looking back at Takeyoshi Urabito and Amanda de Valliere.
The man did match the description of a reported serial murderer after all.
