Bullets whistled around Quiet, many directly impacting the stone pillar he was resting behind. He hated to admit it, but in his anger and anticipation he had underestimated these particular Shin-Ra troopers. In his experience, most only had the barest martial competence, enough to justify sticking them in a helmet and giving them assault weaponry. He hadn't expected the situation to become so complicated, either, with the other sword-wielding warrior appearing and seemingly siding with the Shin-Ra lot. He hadn't expected the confessional-booth weirdo to heal Private Benson's arm, either; he didn't know healing magic could be used to reattach limbs, if the wound was fresh enough.
Things hadn't gone to plan.
This was the moment Quiet realised he couldn't work alone like this any more. Shin-Ra's grip over Midgar had grown even stronger over the last few years, and clearly, their grunts were getting better.
He shoots a cold glare at Leonhardt's position, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in his upper left. When - if - he got out of this, he'd have to dig out the bullets. It was fortunate that the lowest one to his back hadn't gone all the way through, as it might have punctured his lung. A small victory.
So, exit strategy.
The way he saw it, he had three choices.
There was the hole in the roof. In normal circumstances, he could perform a series of jumps, one to the side of the pillar, then to the rafters, then through. Still, he had a lot of eyes on him, and he wasn't sure he could do it with his current wound, let alone those he would attain attempting such a manoeuvre.
Ok, then, the door. No, similarly difficult. He'd have to do some rolling and some dashing while avoiding fire, and the other sword dude, and it would be easy enough to pursue him.
That leaves...
He glances up and to his left. A big, stained glass window. Heavy, and it would sting like hell, but...
A quick, temporary silence fell over the room as weapons ran out of bullets, -click-click-click.
"I'll see you all around," Quiet shouted out, his voice heavy with a sadistic humour. Then he sprang out from behind the cover, sword gleaming in his hand, but he wasn't leaping towards any Shin-Ra troopers; instead, he was gunning for the window. He slashed his sword through it, weakening it's integrity, but he still threw all of his weight into it, before, yes, he plummeted through it, shards of multi-coloured glass exploding outwards with him. A big shard shaped like some jagged continent split open his cheek, and another sliced across his thigh as he fell.
He hit the ground outside the church heavily. He had no time to waste; despite the agony now searing through his body, he sprinted out into the artificial dark of the underplate.
[Attempting to run away!]
