It was always the same song and dance. He would finish their work in a single breath, pat himself down in feign regret, then say:
“Ah damn, I forgot my wallet. Don’t worry, i’m good for it. I’ll pay you back!”
There was no more need for words. No reason for them. They would only fall on deaf ears. It was how Zef wanted it. AVALANCHE would approach him later, and he could give us a ‘special discount’, and he would be as happy as he could be. The thought made Leonhardt sigh. He took the empty cup in hand and turned around to face the sink.
He began to wash the sink in an attempt to rid himself of the headache that was a future business interaction with Zef. Even if it was for AVALANCHE’s sake. The water never could get warm enough. It was always a lukewarm that was just below body temperature. The smell was the worst part. With a working filter, it could be removed, hell even made potable, but this was no way to live. Not when just above him someone was enjoying something as simple as warmth.
“Leonhardt here knows i’ve already got the goods...”
Zef’s voice cut through his internal monologue like a car backfiring. He didn’t know what the conversation between the two was about, and frankly it was none of his concern. Once the cup was soap was washed out, Leonhardt took the dry rag from under the counter and Leaned up against the sink as he wiped away the excess water sticking to the glass. Mov AtomosZef Naaiers
Mov laughed out loud when Zef made the quip about his TV. That was a good one. "Ya know, you really shouldn't be talking about me being small time. It's embarrassing to say that right after you weaseled out of a bar tab." Mov took another drink out of his cup. "And I was just messing with you Zef. I know exactly who you are." He leaned back in his chair, closing the slot that was in front of his mouth. "And it would be my pleasure to do business with you. That is, if you can keep up." He turned towards the Leonhardt . "And I'll pay for this guy to. It'll make me feel warm inside to know I helped the homeless."Zef Naaiers

“Sure, sure. We’ll work something out,” Zef said followed by a burp into his hand. “Yo Leon, you want to play some darts?”
Zef loved to play darts at this bar. He was pretty good at it too as long as he hadn’t taken a hyper in awhile. He walked towards the dart board. The person that was already playing threw his last dart and scurried away as if he had been in this situation with Zef before.
“You ever play darts, ace?” he said tilting his head back towards the T.V guy as he pulled a dart out of it with a grin on his face.
The unrestrained belch that Zef unleashed into his hand felt as if he was using Earth materia with his gullet. Leonhardt feared he and the other customers wouldn’t make it. He made it a point to personally wash everything that Zef touched.
“Yo Leon, you want to play some darts?”
Especially the darts. Leonhardt remained silent as he continued to dry the old fashion glass with a rag, the squeaking coming from the cup being his only response. He was working now, and refused to leave the gil unattended with Zef around. Not since The Incident. The thought of it made Leonhardt put the cup back on the shelf a little harder than he would have preferred.
"And I'll pay for this guy to. It'll make me feel warm inside to know I helped the homeless."
“Don’t.”
His voice was the usual monotone, but anyone who knew Leonhardt could hear an inflection in his voice that pointed towards annoyance. Doubly so since a customer left the bar due to Zef getting too close. Again. Leonhardt could swear this man would made ever business he walked into lose money, whether he took it or not.Zef NaaiersMov Atomos
"No" Mov heard Leonhardt say. He looked up. "So I don't have to pay?" He raised his cup to the barkeep. "I'll drink to that!" He chugged the rest of his drink and slammed the cup on the table. "Yeah I've played darts before. I don't like to crush the elderly, but I guess I can make an exception for today." Mov hopped up and walked over to the dart board, pulling out the stray darts. He suddenly felt energized, though he didn't know why. Perhaps he couldn't handle his alcohol as well as he thought he could.LeonhardtZef Naaiers
