About:
"Quiet" was born in Under Junon. He lived a normal, happy childhood. His father had once been a fisherman on the local seas, before the Shin-Ra Electric Power Company polluted the ocean, and his mother worked for a medical clinic in Junon as a care assistant. Despite their relative poverty, they were content. Quiet was an outgoing child, popular with other children and adults alike. He was also quite smart, quick to learn about the world and eager to question the nature of things. However, like many children enraptured by Shin-Ra's propaganda, Quiet one day aspired to be a legendary hero in SOLDIER. Quiet's parents both had first-hand experience of the cruelties wrought by Shin-Ra's regime, and so this dream was a point of contention. Still, a job was a job, and a dream was a dream. Neither parent could ultimately dissuade Quiet from his dream.
How dreams can change.
Shortly after his fifteenth birthday, Shin-Ra agents, Turks, detained Quiet's parents on suspected terrorism. Without arrest or trial, they were forcefully taken from their home and carted away. The boy who would come to be known as Quiet never saw them again. He never knew why they were taken, what they did or were accused of doing. All he remembered were his mother's screams, his father's silent tears, their silhouettes receding into the back of an unmarked van with shaded windows. And a grin. He remembered the callous grin of one of those suited agents, the wink he gave as he effortlessly upended Quiet's life.
Quiet remained in his home for several days. He was visited by friends of the family, and those closest to him, but he remained silent. His parents had warned him about Shin-Ra, how they could strike without warning, how ordinary lives were beneath them, and how cruelty was of second nature to them.
One night, without warning, Quiet left his small family home and went into the wilderness. Hours turned to days, and days turned into weeks, before eventually the boy collapsed from exhaustion and hunger. He would have quite enjoyed returning to the planet in that moment, as his consciousness faded.
When he woke, he did so beneath a steel sky, in the Sector 7 slums of Midgar, staring through a broken roof in a ramshackle medical clinic. He had been saved by a group known as AVALANCHE, who had been practising drills in the nearby area. They had spotted him at the side of the road.
The boy did not talk to his saviours, simply listening and nodding. He soon learned that they, ironically, were a group of freedom fighters dedicated to stopping the Shin-ra group from abusing the planet through the use of mako energy.
Without hesitation, the boy agreed to join the group. They asked him his name, but he simply shook his head. That boy was dead. And so he became known as Quiet.
Quiet trained with them and quickly demonstrated a natural affinity for violence. Several years later and he was a frontline fighter for the cause. It wasn't that he believed so much in AVALANCHE's mission statement. No, it was true, Shin-Ra was making the planet bleed. But Quiet didn't really care about that all too much.
He just wanted to make Shin-Ra hurt.
One day, a unique opportunity presented itself. AVALANCHE had been growing in strength and resources, and had acquired classified information, detailed research, on how to replicate SOLDIERs, those enhanced warriors that powered Shin-Ra's military division.
AVALANCHE's leaders were eager to implement the research practically, creating their own breed of SOLDIER. Quiet was more than happy to volunteer as a test run for the procedure. He found himself more than aware of the irony of the situation.
The procedure works. Quiet's eyes flushed blue with mako energy.
Hours later, after the procedure, the facility was attacked by Shin-Ra, perhaps on a twist of fate, or perhaps from an informant on the inside. The equipment, the data, and the scientists that allowed Quiet to happen, was lost in fire, and that version of Avalanche was splintered. Quiet himself was almost killed, still weakened by the procedure; he attained a great scar across his face. He slipped away from the fires and into the night.
Quiet found himself alone again. All he had was his blade, his hatred, and his new power.
In the years that followed, he would become known as the Spectre of Midgar, a blight upon the works of Shin-Ra. With cold fury, he worked tirelessly to slow and derail Shin-Ra.
He felt change in the air. Something was coming.

Description: Years of battle and struggle have allowed Quiet to fight through pain and bodily damage to some degree, even beyond the normal capacity of a Jenova-enhanced SOLDIER. In practice, this means that certain attacks, such as regular gunfire, that might cause a regular combatant to flinch or slow down will not reduce Quiet's capacity to respond with violence.
In essence, Quiet's fury can help him to power through pain and physical damage, though not to an absurd degree.
