SWITCH didn’t say anything in response nor did she really acknowledge his objection. If he expected her to explain her actions then he didn’t know her as well as he thought he did. She draped an arm around his shoulder and gave him an reassuring pat as if to let him know it was all going to be over soon. A small robotic spider leapt from the hood of her jacket into one of his pockets and she hoped that he would be too distracted to notice.
She started to walk away down the street, leaving her monodrive to finish the job. SWITCH subtly glanced over her shoulder to see what he would do. Was he going to let those men burn up?
Lucas looked back at the fire going on and in compassion or stupidity he broke away from her not noticing she dropped something in his pocket as he ran to the two men and grabbing them letting out a cry of pain from the fire as his hands accidentally grabbed their metals but continued pulling them away before kicking the monodrive to make it stop
SWITCH continued to walk away as Lucas pulled the two troopers from the fire. They were both still alive but one was badly burned. They would need medical treatment soon.
A little toy robot with a horn on its head came waddling over to Lucas as he placed the troopers on the ground. A puff of smoke erupted from the smogger and enveloped the area Lucas was standing in. If he didn’t get out of its range he would be temporarily poisoned and blinded by the gas.
"oh &^%$!" Lucas yelled jumping away from the machine then looking at switch before standing up and walking over to her "what the hell switch?!" he yelled at her frusturated "the monodrive was plenty! you didnt need to bring in the smogger!" he yelled at her obviously angry
SWITCH stopped and turned around to face him as he approached, yelling obscenities at her. He was pretty riled up and it was actually kind of cute. She giggled playfully at his reaction to her attempt with the smogger but her sweeper stepped forwards to place itself between them defensively.
Placing a hand on the sweeper’s knee, she stepped to its side and heaved a heavy sigh. She touched the tips of her pointer fingers together and then pulled them apart. If Lucas was going to get in the way of her goals it could mean only one thing: They were enemies now on opposing sides of the great conflict.
Her focus materia glowed in her pocket as she stood watching Lucas.
Lucas looked at SWITCH not making a move yet "what the hell is wrong with you? they were just standing there not doing anything to hurt anyone!" he yelled at her obvious his compassion for the two troopers visible his feet ready to move at the first sign of her machines attacking him
SWITCH didn’t bother trying to make him understand. She just turned and continued walking away while her sweeper blocked him from following. The smogger came waddling after her and the monodrive zoomed in a large circle around Lucas and the sweeper. None of her robots attacked him but anyone could see they were prepared to do so if needed.
