About: Blake Jones was obsessed with the truth. He was born and raised in the slums of Sector One and no one was surprised when he became a respected journalist. As a young man he was a special correspondent for the war in Wu-Tai. He traveled with a group of soldiers delivering news straight from the battlefield. After the war, he traveled to Cosmo Canyon under false pretenses and wrote a bestselling book called, The Life Stream: A Theory.
A few years ago his editor asked him to do a piece on a rising cult of people who had been experimented on with Jenova cells. The journalist went undercover to discover the secret truth about the cult. He attended several meetings and listened to their ramblings with skepticism.
They talked about a goddess trapped somewhere in the Shin-Ra building. He learned that once those who had been blessed by the mother were reunited with her physical form, the world would end. At first, he sought to share this knowledge in an effort to prevent what he now feels is inevitable but he suffered a loss of purpose after a bombing destroyed the printing presses.
He'd gone back to his apartment to write his article when he heard a loud boom echo through the sector. He ran to the window and threw open the shutters. A large plume of smoke rose from the news building a few blocks away. He ran out of the house and down the street to discover what had happened. Shin-ra had already arrived at the scene and were keeping people back. He was told AVALANCHE had destroyed the printing presses as revenge for some articles the newspaper had printed about them earlier that month.
Blake was devastated by the destruction of his workplace. Didn't people care about freedom of speech? He only ever wanted to bring the unbiased facts about current events to the general public and now he found himself without purpose. Rather than sit around moping he zealously investigated the bombing. Curiosity was Blake's downfall. He eventually discovered it had not been AVALANCHE but Shin-ra who had destroyed his precious printing press.
Midgar had become a politically divisive place and people were too distracted taking one side or the other, Shin-Ra or AVALANCHE, to care about this secret project or the cult of worshipers he had discovered. Blake lost faith in humanity and in the end he came to accept that the destruction of the planet at the hands of the mother was both inevitable and for the best. Both rich and poor would be judged alike and only those elements deemed most beneficial would live on in the goddess as she moved on to rule a new world.
Blake is a naturally gifted healer and he uses his skills to aid those who are kind to him but he sees little point in doing much of anything. He is just a guy waiting for the world to end.
About: Zef is an eccentric fellow with a flair for the dramatic. Growing up in the slums most of his life, he has seen a lot of awful things and it doesn't phase his sarcastic sense of humor. Zef is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, often taking big risks. Sometimes these risks give Zef huge rewards, other times he finds himself in pretty desperate situations. Further, Zef has a bit of an addiction to hypers. If he goes more than a week without a hyper, Zef starts to get depressed. Zef likes money, and greed is one of his primary motivators.
In the beginning Zef was from a middle class family that came to Midgar from Junon, his father was an engineer who worked on maintaining Mako reactors during Midgar's construction. In the early years of his life Zef's father passed away from mako poisoning and his household was left destitute. Zef's mother struggled to raise him until he was old enough to fend for himself. As a teenager, Zef found work in a small kitchen in Wall Market where he was exposed to the underbelly of society.
As he reached adulthood Zef ended up as a low level member of the Manji. Convinced that he could one day surpass Cactus Jack and take over the Wall Market himself he left the Manji to strike it out on his own. For several years, Zef was on his own trying to avoid his former compadres. After a few narrow escapes, Zef was able to scrounge up enough money to buy Jack off.
Zef returned to the Wall Market, where he began collecting weapons. Over time, Zef built up a large black market and began selling weapons to various gangs of the slums of Midgar. Over time, Zef became one of the biggest faces for illegal weapons in all the slums. Most dangerous of all is his knowledge of bomb making, but he has no interest in Avalanche without them bringing serious money to the table.
(Replacing the misspelling of Einhander to Einherjar)
Alias: Einherjar.
His conquests soon gained him the notice of his superiors and after a particularly risky mission to the Nibelhelm mountains to deal with a few unruly dragons - he managed to gain somewhat of a reputation in SOLDIER.
However, it wouldn't be until the Wutai war that his name (and title) would be solidified in Midgar's history. With lance in hand, the now 2nd Class soldier threw himself onto the flames of war.
Cutting down foe after foe, and by the end of it, he wasn't sure what was bloodier - the ground or himself. His mindless fervor on the battlefield as he stalked his foes - like a specter of war earned him the alias: Einherjar.
With the president of Shin-ra as his uncle and his sister Autumn as a member of the turks,a young man of 22, Lucas Garett had one year ago worked at Shin-Ra as a "college" student considering to work at Shin-Ra corporation full time because he believed them to actually do some good to better the lives of the people. Now with a finished internship he has been given one assignment by the that he agrees would be helpful: infiltrate AVALANCHE as a new member and spy on them while making reports back, basically giving him the double agent assignment. After a harsh meeting with members of avalanche who told him their view on what was going on he was torn between these people and Shin-Ra who, after one year since the meteor did nothing but continue working in their corporation crushed his hopes that they would come and help them making him realize now that Shin-Ra was made up of nothing more than cowards and money pigs after this revelation he finally joined avalanche where he hopes that he can make a difference....or so the members of avalanche believe.
Lucas who was still loyal to shin-ra made up a sad and tragic story to get close to avalanche so that he could report to shin-ra any and all activity that avalanche was up to so that anything that avalanche tried to pull would be stopped by Shin-Ra. to make it so that he wouldn't be suspected of anything after meeting and he was alone by himself, he would report to Shin-Ra via "i pad" and has been playing "double agent" ever since
